Elín Edda Þorsteinsdóttir, the brilliant designer behind the book Esseyja / Island Fiction, is nominated for FIT’s 2024 price in the category of book design. The book is edited and published by Þorgerður Ólafsdóttir in collaboration with Relics of Nature. RoN is so proud to be part of this project and warmly congratulates Elin Edda on the nomination – which is so well deserved!
Elin Edda worked closely with Þorgerður throughout the writing process. Her design does not only make the book into the beautiful artefact that it is, but also contributes to the content in meaningful ways. The book’s important messages regarding human-nature relations and female perspectives in the Anthropocene are not only supported and illustrated through its design but equally articulated and added to through Elin Edda’s delicate touch.
